  The graph shows the changing patterns of domestic access to modern technology in homes in the UK.

  Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

  The line graph shows how the usage of four types of domestic technologies changed in the UK families from 1996 to 2003.

  The percentage of CD player ownership had consistently been the highest. In 1996, nearly three fifths of the UK families owned a CD player, and by 2003, one in five homes had access to this gadget.

  The usage of mobile phone had the most significant growth, with the proportion of ownership more than tripled from 19% to 70% during these years. Although the figure changed slowly at first and had a temporary stagnation before 2001, it overtook that of home computer, becoming the second most owned domestic device in the UK. Albeit at a slower pace than mobile phone, the figure for home computer also went up gradually from approximately 28% to about 55% in 2003.

  Noticeably, domestic access to the Internet had not been recorded until 1998, when only one tenth of the British homes could use it. The figure steadily climbed to over 40% in the next four years, though it was still less popularized than the other three modern technology.

  Overall, a growing percentage of UK families had access to the technological device over these years, particularly mobile phone.
